Ghotbi announces Iran squad

TEHRAN – Iran’s football coach Afshin Ghotbi called 30 players to the national squad to face Iceland and Macedonia.
Esteghlal captain Farhad Majidi, who has not been called up to the national team since 2007, has been summoned by Ghotbi to the team.Iran squad Goalkeepers: Mehdi Rahmati, Vahid Taleblu, Misaq Memarzadeh, Sosha Makani
Defenders: Mohammad Nosrati, Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, Amir Hossein Sadeghi, Hadi Aghili, Farshid Talebi, Hossein Kabi, Hashem Beikzadeh, Khosro Heydari
Midfielders: Javad Nekounam, Masoud Shojaei, Andranik Teymourian, Mohammad Reza Khalatbari, Javad Kazemian, Majid Gholamnejad, Pejman Noori, Amir Hossein Feshangchi, Farhad Majidi, Mohammad Noori, Iman Mobali
Strikers: Ehsan Hajsafi, Milad Meidavudi, Arash Borhani, Karim Ansarifard, Amir Mohebi, Mehrzad Madanchi, Mojtaba Zarei
Iran is scheduled to play a friendly against Iceland on November 10 at the Azadi Stadium. Ghotbi’s team will also play Macedonia on November 18 in Tehran as well.
Iran, which is preparing itself for the 2010 Asian Cup Qualifiers, has been drawn in Group Five along with Singapore, Thailand and Jordan. Iran leads the group with four points
